CPD Points for ‘Leading or Participating in Research’.

'RACGP will now award CPD points to its members for using ClinTrial Refer as part of patient education and management'.

Thanks to a collaborative effort between ClinTrial Refer, and RACGP CPD and Dermatology Special Interests Group; as part of a National drive to increase GP participation in research and excellence in patient care, RACGP will now award CPD points to its members for using ClinTrial Refer as part of patient education and management.

GPs who participate in clinical trials, including searching databases such as ClinTrial Refer will be awarded 1 CPD point for every 30 minutes spent.

Points can be conveniently claimed under a new “Quicklog” system, under the heading of “leading or participating in research”.

ClinTrial Refer, in partnership with the Australian Healthcare and Hospital Association (AHHA), is committed to exploring an improved role for primary care clinicians in referral and recruitment to clinical trials through a series of roundtable discussions. These events have been kindly supported by NSW Health Office of Health and Medical Research (2019 & 2021), Victorian State Government Coordinating Office for Health and Medical Research (2019) and Sydney North Health Network (2021). The next event is scheduled for later this year.

The objective of the roundtables is to re-innovate the way Australian general practitioners currently recruit into clinical trials through examining barriers to clinical trial recruitment and identifying opportunities that can help facilitate GP engagement in clinical trial referral.
